Mighty House

The Mighty House began as a case study in compact, sustainable living; a laboratory for testing foam-free materials, Passive House principles, and low-energy systems on a smaller scale. Built on a 24-foot trailer and now sited in a coastal oak forest, the home blends high performance with thoughtful, human-centered design.

Every window was intentionally placed in relation to another, creating a dynamic experience of light, views, and cross-ventilation. Form and function unite throughout the space: the kitchen and dining area, with integrated seating, anchor the home and make up most of its footprint. A large sliding door extends the interior outward, doubling the living space into the landscape.

The bedroom, office, and closet are tucked beneath a sleeping loft above, which feels like a tranquil treehouse nestled among the oaks. Designed for off-grid living, the MightyHouse demonstrates how careful detailing, material choice, and spatial efficiency can support a healthier, lower-impact way of living.
