Who We Are
DIMENSIONstyle combines design thinking with hands-on building expertise. With experience in architecture, construction management, and environmental design, we offer a unique blend of creativity, technical skill, and practical insight to every project.
The best spaces come from true collaboration.
At DIMENSIONstyle, we bridge design and construction, combining architectural insight, construction management expertise, and environmental design thinking in every project. We don’t just hand off drawings and disappear. We stay engaged, collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure the design vision is realized from concept to final detail. Our approach is hands-on, practical, and people-centered, because building should be as thoughtful, seamless, and enjoyable as the spaces we create.
The Team
SIENA SHAW
Owner, Principal
Siena Shaw is a founding partner at DIMENSIONstyle, who explores the intersection of people, nature, and design. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, a Master’s Degree in Architecture from Parsons, and an Architecture license from the State of California. She also completed her Certified Passive House Designer training. Siena has worked across boutique architecture firms and large organizations, including the City of New York’s Parks Department, and has brought her skills to volunteer projects around the world, most notably helping build a small orphanage in Kenya and supporting community initiatives with the Majora Carter Group in the South Bronx of New York. Her work blends technical expertise with creativity, sustainability, and a deep respect for the communities she serves.
When not designing or collaborating on projects, Siena enjoys practicing yoga, being in nature (hiking, skiing, biking) or curled-up with a good book.
BRIAN RUBIN,
Owner, Principal
Brian Rubin is a founding partner at DIMENSIONstyle, dedicated to guiding projects from concept to completion through smart, efficient, and streamlined processes. He values the finished product as much as the journey, cultivating strong relationships with clients, consultants, vendors, and crews along the way.
Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a Graduate Degree in Construction Management from New York University. In 2012, he became a licensed architect in the State of New York and completed the Certified Passive House Designer training. In 2016, he was elected to the board of Passive House California, and he continues to advocate for high-performance homes that tread lightly on the natural environment.
Brian loves living and working in the Santa Cruz area, with its access to the coastline, redwood forests, and mountains. When not reimagining the built environment, he immerses himself in nature, often mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding, or camping.
Back in our early architecture days, we spent hours in AutoCAD where “DIMENSIONstyle” is the keyboard command to control how measurements and annotactions appear. Kind of nerdy? Yes. Kind of perfect? Absolutely. The word “dimension” reflects the precision and attention to detail required in design (measurements, alignments, and details) while “style” captures the creative, expressive side of design. Together, they embody our philosophy: precision meets personality, structure meets style. And just like that, DIMENSIONstyle was born.
What’s with the name?
From net-zero homes and Passive Houses to restaurants, tiny homes, and ADUs, we love bringing ideas to life across all types of projects. If you have a new idea you want to design, we’re excited to explore it with you. Our goal is to make the journey approachable, well-paced, and stress-free, even during construction.
